Osteoporosis Screening (DEXA)

DEXA or duel-emission x-ray absorptiometry is a means of measuring bone mineral density. From two x-ray beams with differing energy levels are aimed at the patients bones the bone mineral density can be determined from the absorption of each beam. The DEXA scan is used to diagnose and follow osteoporosis.
