F. Scott Pereles MD is currently a staff teleradiologist for Radiology Associates of Albuquerque P.A. Previously he was CEO of Rad Alliance Inc. and MRI Director for Salinas Valley Radiologists Inc/Coastal Valley Imaging Centers. Dr. Pereles was also former Director of MRI at Northwestern University in Chicago and had dual appointments as Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Radiology. Dr. Pereles graduated from the University of Pennsylvania cum laud and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland followed by Internal Medicine Internship at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore/Johns Hopkins Hospitals. He performed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Arizona where he was chief resident and received two US patents for designing a laser guidance system for CT directed biopsies. Dr. Pereles fellowship trained at Wake Forest University Medical School in body imaging. He joined the faculty at Northwestern University school of medicine and became Director of MRI in 2002. His varied research interests have included clinical applications of cutting edge MRI technology and 3D post processing, especially in cardiac, vascular, and whole body imaging. Dr. Pereles founded and directed Northwestern SMaRT (School of Magnetic Resonance Training) which trained over 100 technologists and physicians from around the world to perform advanced MRI studies.
