During his tenure at LSUHSC, Dr. Mena was an Associate Professor of Radiology and held the positions of Director of Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Clinical director of Radiology. At LSU, he was awarded for his teaching abilities on three separate occasions, receiving the school of medicine’s highest teaching honor, the Dr. Alan A. Copping Teacher of the Year award; he was also recognized as the LSU Department of Radiology’s Teacher of the Year award in two consecutive years, an award voted by residents. In his tenure, he had several publications and participated in multispecialty conferences with the sports orthopedic doctors in order to continue his studies and thus help in the treatment in the patient care. His professional associations include Society of Skeletal Radioloty, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and the American College of Radiology.
