Fluoroscopy is the study of moving body structures. A continuous x-ray beam is passed through the body part being examined, and is transmitted to a TV-like monitor so that the body part and its motion can be seen in detail by the radiologist. Contrast agents may be introduced into the body through injection, swallowing or an enema.
The majority of fluoroscopy studies include:
Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI)
Barium Enemas (BE)
Intravenous Pyelograms (IVP)
