If you are scheduled to have an interventional procedure, please follow these instructions:
1. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the day before your exam.
2. You may have a small sip of water to help swallow pills.
3. Take all your usual medications, including blood pressure, heart, etc .
4. If your procedure is scheduled for 10:30 am or later, you may have a clear liquid breakfast. This includes coffee, water and juices that you can see through, but no solid food.
5. Special instructions for diabetics :
· If you take insulin, take only half of your usual dose.
· If you take Glucophage , do not take it on the day of your procedure.
6. Transportation : Be sure to make arrangements for someone to drive you home after your procedure. If you receive sedation (as most of our patients do), you cannot drive for the rest of the day.
