J.
Carlos Mena, MD
is a graduate
of Louisiana State
University Health
Sciences Center,
having completed
his residency
and fellowship
training in New
Orleans, Louisiana.
He is Board Certified
by the American
Board of Radiology.
Dr. Mena is Fellowship
trained in Musculoskeletal
Radiology with
additional course
work in Abdominal
Imaging. He is
also proficient
in ultrasound,
CT, MRI, diagnostic
X-ray, nuclear
medicine/PET imaging,
and image guided
percutaneous procedures.
During
his tenure at
LSUHSC as an Associate
Professor, Dr.
Mena held the
positions of Clinical
Director of Radiology,
Chief of Abdominal
Imaging, and Director
of MSK. He was
awarded for his
teaching abilities
on three separate
occasions, receiving
the school of
medicine’s highest
teaching honor,
the Dr. Alan A.
Copping Teacher
of the Year award,
as well as the
LSU Department
of Radiology's
Teacher of the
year award in
consecutive years.
