Daniel A. Fuentes-Bernardo, M.D.


Daniel (Danny) A. Fuentes, MD completed his BS in Microbiology & Immunology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL. He went on to medical school at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MA. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine – Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief Resident and Instructor of the School of Medicine. Dr. Fuentes received his American Board of Radiology Diploma in 1999 and his Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular & Interventional Radiology in 2001 and 2012.

Dr. Fuentes began his clinical practice as Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, at the Division of Interventional Radiology. During his academic career Dr. Fuentes wrote and coauthored articles and exhibits in various journals and scientific symposia. He moved on to private practice in South Texas for twelve years, where he practiced Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and served on various leadership and administrative roles including Chairman of the Board, President, and Managing Partner of his radiology group. He has also served as Health system Board Member, Vice President of the Medical Staff, Medical Director of three Radiology Departments at Valley Baptist Health System; and as Adjunct Assistant Professor of University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Fuentes has recently completed a Master in Science of Health Care Management at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. He has an interest in interventional oncology and was the first to perform Nano Knife (Irreversible Electroporation, the latest soft tissue ablation technology) in Texas. Dr. Fuentes is proud to bring his expertise to New Mexico and RAA.

Dr. & Mrs. Fuentes and their children are very excited to return to Albuquerque, the land of enchantment and the community they fell in love with years ago.
