Since its inception in 1982, the national Komen Foundation and its Affiliates have raised over $1 billion to increase breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. Dr. Gary Wood, Director for Breast Imaging for Radiology Associates of Albuquerque, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. This year's Susan G. Komen® Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2008.

The United Way of Central New Mexico raises money to help children and youth succeed, strengthen and support families, promote self-sufficiency, build vital and safe neighborhoods and support vulnerable and aging populations. Employees make donations through payroll deductions and the money is used to help local charities and organizations.
